Forest Bathing with Shawna Hartung

Forest Bathing with Shawna Hartung
Step into a slower rhythm and experience the garden through your senses.
Forest bathing (inspired by the Japanese practice of Shinrin-yoku) is a gentle, guided experience that invites you to reconnect with the natural world and with yourself.
During this two-hour walk, you’ll be guided through a series of simple sensory and relational invitations designed to help you:
Slow down and release mental clutter
Notice the beauty and detail of early spring
Experience the calming effects of nature on body and mind
Cultivate a sense of presence, connection, and ease
The experience includes a brief opening meditation, guided invitations to explore the landscape at your own pace, quiet personal reflection time (sit spot), and a closing tea gathering to “drink in” the morning together. This is not a hike or a naturalist walk—there is no distance to cover and no prior experience needed. All are welcome. Come as you are and move at your own pace.
Location: Crystal Springs Rhododendron Garden, Portland OR
Time: 10:30 AM – 12:00 PM
What to bring: Comfortable walking shoes, weather-appropriate layers, and water.
